Chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s younger brother Swapan (Babun) Banerjee (fourth from left) won celebrity status in the absence of the usual celebrities at a rally organised by the Trinamul students’ wing on Monday for “the eradication of Marxist and Maoist elements from the Jadavpur University campus”. A group of marchers saw Swapan on Mayo Road and requested a photo op with him. “Dada, apnar saathe ekta chhobi chai (Dada, want a photo with you),” someone requested and Swapan was only too happy to oblige.
