CPM leader hacked to death in Jhargram

Jhargram: A CPM leader has been hacked to death allegedly by Trinamool-led vigilant group Jana Jagaran Mancha on Saturday. Villagers found the body of Manik Mandi, secretary of CPM’s Asthapara branch in Jhargram. Forty two-year-old Mandi’s body was dumped in a desolate spot near Dharsa on the banks of Dulung. 
    According to victim’s kin, Mandi went to Sabang to admit his son at Basantapur school. In the afternoon, he 
started from Sabang, availed train from Balichak and got down at Gidni station. From there he headed for home on a cycle. He was in touch with his family till then over phone. 
    When he did not return at night, police were informed. Villagers found 
the body on Saturday early morning. Amar Bose, former MLA of Jhargram, accused Trinamool for the murder. However, Trinamool district working president Pradyot Ghosh claimed his partymen were not involved in the murder.
